After our patients receive the medical care they need from the Emergency Hospital, the client and patient are transferred back to our clinic the next day for any further, or ongoing care needed.
We do offer Boarding of our client’s pets while they are out of town, or when their pets need a safe place to be while circumstances don’t allow them to be at home. Our Boarding Manager’s primary responsibility is for the well-being of our Boarding pets, and any healthcare needs they have during their stay.
All boarding pets must be up to date on their vaccinations and preventive care, as well as free of parasites that are transmissible to other animals.
Cats receive special treatment in our kitty-ward, separate from all dog areas of the hospital, with windows that allow them to look outside at the bird houses. This is a most comfortable, stress-free space where many cats have enjoyed staying.
Small dogs that stay with us have their own room in the clinic with a large picture window. Limited space is available for large and giant breed dogs, but they have ample space in our large dog runs, close to the fenced-in backyard where they are allowed to run around several times a day, always supervised by one of our Animal Attendants.
Boarding pets are fed food brought from home by their owner, or a gentle diet we carry in the hospital just for boarders.
We will administer any and all medications to our boarding patients while they are with us, at no charge, unless a medication refill is needed.
A full Boarding Report Card of your pet’s stay is provided to you at discharge, including any physical examination findings made by our doctors.
The Veterinary Clinic of Myrtle Beach has an in-hospital pharmacy for all of your pet’s needs.
We also work closely with a local Compounding Pharmacy when special, flavored medications are needed for your pet, depending on his or her health condition. In some cases, trans-dermal medications may be the best option for your pet.
When a patient is under the care of a Veterinary Oncologist, we will coordinate oral and intravenous chemotherapy treatments and any other pharmaceutical and nutritional care needed.
We offer a variety of Heartworm and Flea Medication for the monthly prevention of parasitic diseases in dogs and cats, and sell these products at very competitive prices. We carry Heartgard Plus, Nexgard, Trifexis, and Revolution for Cats.
On-line pharmacies and human pharmacies have now entered the pet medication industry, but there is no replacement for veterinary oversight and manufacturer’s guarantees when you purchase your products and medications from the Veterinary Clinic. We make sure that the products you are buying from us are FDA approved, Brand-Name, guaranteed, and not dangerous to your pet.
