We do offer Boarding of our client’s pets while they are out of town, or when their pets need a safe place to be while circumstances don’t allow them to be at home. Our Boarding Manager’s primary responsibility is for the well-being of our Boarding pets, and any healthcare needs they have during their stay.

All boarding pets must be up to date on their vaccinations and preventive care, as well as free of parasites that are transmissible to other animals.

Cats receive special treatment in our kitty-ward, separate from all dog areas of the hospital, with windows that allow them to look outside at the bird houses. This is a most comfortable, stress-free space where many cats have enjoyed staying.

Small dogs that stay with us have their own room in the clinic with a large picture window. Limited space is available for large and giant breed dogs, but they have ample space in our large dog runs, close to the fenced-in backyard where they are allowed to run around several times a day, always supervised by one of our Animal Attendants.

Boarding pets are fed food brought from home by their owner, or a gentle diet we carry in the hospital just for boarders.

We will administer any and all medications to our boarding patients while they are with us, at no charge, unless a medication refill is needed.

A full Boarding Report Card of your pet’s stay is provided to you at discharge, including any physical examination findings made by our doctors.

Pharmacy, Prescriptions and Monthly Preventatives

The Veterinary Clinic of Myrtle Beach
has an in-hospital pharmacy for all of your pet’s needs.
We also work closely with a local Compounding Pharmacy when special, flavored medications are needed for your pet, depending on his or her health condition. In some cases, trans-dermal medications may be the best option for your pet.

When a patient is under the care of a Veterinary Oncologist, we will coordinate oral and intravenous chemotherapy treatments and any other pharmaceutical and nutritional care needed.

We offer a variety of Heartworm and Flea Medication for the monthly prevention of parasitic diseases in dogs and cats, and sell these products at very competitive prices. We carry Heartgard Plus, Nexgard, Trifexis, and Revolution for Cats.

On-line pharmacies and human pharmacies have now entered the pet medication industry, but there is no replacement for veterinary oversight and manufacturer’s guarantees when you purchase your products and medications from the Veterinary Clinic. We make sure that the products you are buying from us are FDA approved, Brand-Name, guaranteed, and not dangerous to your pet.

Prescription Pet Foods

We recommend and carry, Hills Science Diet and Royal Canin prescription foods for dogs and cats, which help in the management of certain health conditions. Diet consultations and food recommendations are provided at any time for the overall health and well-being of your pet, for all life stages.

Euthanasia and Cremation/ Grief and Loss Support

One of the most difficult times in a person’s life will be when it becomes time to say goodbye to a dearly loved pet and family member. During this sad time, we will treat you and your pet with the utmost compassion, care, and love. All of us at the Veterinary Clinic have been through this experience personally, and know how emotionally hard it is on a person and a family.

We provide Quality of Life consultations for you and your family members, and are available to offer helpful advice at any time during this end of life process.

Planned euthanasia is performed in the clinic during the quiet hours of the day in our specially designed Comfort Room which allows you, your pet and your family, with privacy and time to grieve in a calm and comfortable space. We make every effort to ensure that the passing of your pet is peaceful.

You may elect to have your pet cremated with his or her ashes returned to you in a pretty wooden box. Our cremation service cares for our patients with respect and kindness after death, and makes sure that their ashes are returned in a timely manner.
