In-House Veterinary Diagnosis & Treatment

The Veterinary Clinic of Myrtle Beach is well equipped with Laboratory machines that run In-House bloodwork when important information about your pet is needed immediately.

We also have the ability to run 10-minute in-house blood tests for Heartworm disease, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma infections in dogs. Parvovirus testing is also performed within a few minutes for a quick and accurate diagnosis in the clinic.

For our Feline patients, we have the ability to run 10-minute blood tests for diagnosing the Feline Leukemia Virus and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV).

When blood and tissue samples, slides, or cultures need to be sent out to a specialty lab for evaluation, our Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory service picks up these samples daily and provides us with a 24-hour turnaround time giving our doctors all test results quickly.

Veterinary Radiology

We are one of the only hospitals along the Grand Strand with human quality Digital Radiography for X-rays. This piece of diagnostic equipment sets the gold standard of care in veterinary hospitals and is an impressive tool for assisting our doctors in making an accurate diagnosis. When second opinions and further evaluations are needed, these images are shared with Veterinary Specialists and Radiologists.

Veterinary Ultrasound

In addition to this imaging modality, we also use Ultrasound on a daily basis. Anytime it is necessary to recommend a full body cavity Ultrasound for a patient, we have a Veterinary Ultrasonographer who comes to VCMB to perform this diagnostic service. Most often, these patients are in need of evaluations of the Abdomen, an Echocardiogram of the heart, or both.

Once we have all of the testing and information we need to make a correct diagnosis, we then discuss the results with the pet’s owner and come up with a mutually agreeable treatment plan.
