Dr. Amber Leavis
Dr. Amber Leavis grew up in a small town in Massachusetts and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a veterinarian. She grew up with multiple pets, from cats and dogs, to small mammals and birds. She shadowed at a local veterinary hospital and later joined the team as a technician to further her education and practical skills. Dr. Leavis received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Animal and Veterinary Sciences, with a minor in Business, from the University of Rhode Island and received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Leavis went on to complete a small animal community medicine internship at Angell at Nashoba before joining the Veterinary Clinic of Myrtle Beach. Her clinical interests include Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, and Dermatology. When not working, Dr. Leavis enjoys training her Lab/Beagle mix named Dakota, caring for her two cockatiels and fish, baking, reading, photography, and gardening!
