Dr. Dickens
Dr. Dickens is originally from Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and a proud graduate of North Edgecombe High School. His academic journey began at North Carolina A&T State University, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2021.
Growing up as an only child, Dr. Dickens always had a dog by his side—despite having pet allergies as a child. His love for animals and science was undeniable, with Animal Planet and Nat Geo Wild often playing in the background when he wasn’t watching cartoons.
His passion for veterinary medicine began in high school while preparing for a senior project. He chose to shadow a veterinarian at Riverside Veterinary Hospital, an experience that confirmed his desire to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. He continued to work at Riverside during school breaks throughout his undergraduate years.
While earning his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from NC State University, Dr. Dickens gained additional hands-on experience working at AMC of Garner Animal Hospital during weekends and school breaks—a clinic he continues to support until joining our team.
Dr. Dickens particularly enjoyed anatomy in his first year of veterinary school and discovered a strong interest in general practice during his clinical rotations. He is excited to continue growing as a clinician and looks forward to building lasting relationships with both clients and their pets.
