Rehabilitation

If your pet is injured or undergoing surgery, rehab can be a safe, effective way to help them recover. During rehab sessions, pets receive physical therapy treatments tailored to their specific condition. The goal of pet rehab is to help your pet get back to their normal activity level as quickly as possible while
minimizing their discomfort.

What Is Pet Rehab?

Pet rehab uses safe, noninvasive treatments to help improve your pet’s strength and mobility after an injury or medical procedure. These treatments are very similar to what humans receive in physical therapy.

Depending on your pet’s needs, their rehab program may include:

  • Massage therapy
  • Exercise therapy
  • Laser therapy
  • Aqua therapy

The length of your pet’s rehab period depends on their specific needs. Many pets start to see improvements after a few weeks, while those with chronic conditions may take longer to progress.

We are proud to partner with PrimePet Rehabilitation Therapy and Dr. Tom Walsh to offer rehabilitation services for our patients.

Dr. Tom Walsh had a successful career in telecommunications but always knew his true calling was helping animals. Deciding to pursue that passion, he became a veterinarian and never looked back.

After working over a decade as a general practitioner veterinarian, he found his specialty- small animal rehabilitation. Dr. Walsh established PrimePet Rehabilitation Therapy, a mobile small animal rehabilitation and physical therapy service. In just three years, he transitioned the original PrimePet Rehab mobile
concept to a permanent location in downtown Myrtle Beach, building one of the premier and innovative small animal rehabilitation centers on the East Coast. Additionally, Dr. Walsh is a featured national speaker at veterinary and technology conferences, webinars, and podcasts.
